This proven concept enables the mother and family to remain in the same private, comfortable room through every stage of the childbirth process – labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum. Surgical suites are also available for Cesarean sections and complicated deliveries.

The department’s medical team is comprised of board-certified obstetricians, nurses, pediatricians and two onsite neonatologists from UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. This caring team assists each family before, during and after delivery. An in-house obstetrician is available 24/7 for immediate care. Their medical team’s skill and dedication to quality care is reflected by the department’s impressive cesarean-section rate, consistently one of the lowest in Northeast Ohio.
Because the birth of a baby involves lifestyle changes for the entire family, our certified childbirth instructors offer a variety of classes, including childbirth classes, refresher courses and sibling classes for sisters and brothers of the newborn. In addition, we provide infant-child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes, beeper and car seat rentals, and lactation consultant services.
