Meet the Team of UH Westshore Women’s Health & Midwifery
Physician Team
Our physicians are board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. They provide prenatal care for expectant moms - and are specifically trained to care for women with more complex medical conditions or who are considered high risk. Our team of physicians also provide care for low risk women whose preference is to have a physician supported birth experience.
Midwifery Team
Our midwives are grounded in the philosophy of the American College of Nurse Midwifery (ACNM), with the belief that birth is a life cycle event that should be nurtured. They provide individualized care and help advocate choice in pregnancy that supports the labor and birth process. Our midwives collaborate with physicians, so in the event of an emergency, a physician is available to provide medical expertise and intervention.
