AHA BLS Provider Course
The American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is designed to train healthcare professionals to recognize and respond effectively to life-threatening emergencies. The course emphasizes the delivery of high‑quality CPR, effective ventilations, and early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) across adult, child, and infant populations. [cpr.heart.org]
✨ What Participants Learn
Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants.
Deliver effective breaths/ventilations, including use of barrier devices and bag-mask ventilation.
Apply the AHA Chain of Survival concepts, including the importance of early defibrillation.
Use an AED safely and efficiently.
Work as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR scenarios.
Relieve foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) in adults, children, and infants.
This instructor-led or blended-learning course uses video-based instruction, hands-on practice, and simulated clinical scenarios to ensure learners gain both knowledge and practical resuscitation skills.
👩⚕️ Who Should Take This Course
The AHA BLS Provider Course is intended for:
Healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, paramedics, EMTs, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants.
Students in healthcare training programs.
Personnel with a duty to respond to cardiac emergencies in both in-hospital and prehospital environments.
📚 Course Format
Course components typically include:
Instructor-led or blended online/classroom training.
Practice of CPR, ventilations, AED use, and team-based resuscitation drills.
Skills testing in adult, child, and infant BLS scenarios.
A written exam assessing course content knowledge.
📇 Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive an AHA BLS Provider Course Completion eCard, valid for two years.
