Biography: Robin Piper, AUD, CCC-A
About
Robin Piper, AuD, CCC-A, is a licensed clinical audiologist and the supervisor of audiology services, academic sites at University Hospitals. One of her primary areas of expertise is the evaluation of patients for and the management of patients with cochlear implants (CI) and bone anchored implant (BAI) osseo-integrated devices.
As part of her role, she serves on the University Hospitals cochlear implant team and Center of Excellence. Collaborating with other professionals, Dr. Piper maintains the candidate grid, ensuring that patients receive their appropriate pre-operative work up and facilitates the implant and accessory orders for the surgical locations.
Dr. Piper also specializes in diagnostic hearing evaluations of all age ranges – from infants to mature adults - and the fitting and maintenance of hearing aids. In addition, she has a special professional interest in the prevention, monitoring and treatment of hearing loss as it pertains to congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV). In this endeavor, she is partnering with pediatric infectious disease specialists to help formulate protocols at both the local and state level.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, Dr. Piper went on to earn a Master of Arts in Audiology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and a Doctorate in Audiology at A.T. Still Arizona School of Health Sciences. She also holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A), awarded by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
In her free time, Dr. Piper enjoys hiking and exploring the Metroparks and local national parks with her dog and spending time with friends and family.
