Heart Attack and Stents

A heart attack (myocardial infarction) occurs when blood flow to a part of the heart is blocked and the heart muscle is damaged. A stent is a device that enlarges the opening of a clogged artery to restore blood flow. Join Dr. Nadim Al-Mubarak, interventional cardiologist at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center, to learn about the use of stents to potentially prevent a heart attack from happening, or as an alternative to open heart surgery in treating a heart attack.
