Uterine Cancer Treatment in Northeast Ohio

If you have been diagnosed with uterine cancer, we know the anxiety you must feel. Each year about 40,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with uterine cancer. In fact, uterine cancer is the fourth most common cancer found in women. Traditionally found in women 60 years of age or older, uterine cancer is becoming more common in younger women as well.

UH Seidman Cancer Center’s physicians and cancer care specialists are experts at diagnosing and treating all stages of uterine cancer. We work together as a team to tailor cancer treatment to each woman’s individual needs.

Our comprehensive cancer center is a nationally recognized cancer program with expertise in both routine and complex care for every stage of uterine cancer. As part of the National Cancer Institute-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, UH Seidman Cancer Center can offer leading treatments earlier than many other cancer centers.

Robotic Surgery Treatment for Uterine Cancer

UH offers a variety of surgical options to treat uterine cancer, including minimally invasive hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and robotic surgery with the da Vinci robotic surgery system. Da Vinci enables the cancer surgeon to perform the procedure using an advanced set of surgical instruments and a 3-D view of the surgical area. This gives the surgeon more precision and a better range of motion when manipulating the instruments. Minimally invasive robotic surgery has many advantages over traditional open surgery. Smaller incisions can mean reduced pain, lower risk of infection or complications and less blood loss. Robotic surgery with da Vinci can also translate to shorter hospital stays, faster recovery and improved outcomes.

Just as each patient is unique, we believe that cancer treatment should be customized to fit the individual. We offer patients a multidisciplinary team approach to care. This means all our cancer doctors, nurses and support staff coordinate your care. UH Seidman Cancer Center multidisciplinary team works together to offer patients a personalized treatment plan.
