The Department of Medical Education at University Hospitals Bedford and Richmond Medical Centers, campuses of UH Regional Hospitals supports the osteopathic and podiatric training programs for the University Hospitals health system. Having the resources of a nationally known health care system provides excellent opportunities for our osteopathic and podiatric student programs. We offer a variety of internships, residencies and fellowships that incorporate medical and surgical experience in a variety of settings, as well as ample opportunities for further education and research. Our interns, residents and fellows receive extensive training under the supervision of some of the foremost experts in their respective fields. Our programs are affiliated with the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Our top tier training programs are overseen by the American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and the Council of Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).
Osteopathic Medical Education
The Osteopathic Medical Education program at UH Bedford and Richmond medical centers offers a traditionally rotating internship, as well as residencies in specialties such as family medicine, internal medicine, dermatology and emergency medicine. We also offer a prestigious sports medicine fellowship and a allergy/immunology fellowship.
Podiatric Medical Education
Our esteemed Podiatric Medical Education Program offers extensive, comprehensive training on all aspects of podiatric care, including orthopaedic surgery, emergency medicine and wound care. We offer a residency in podiatric medicine/surgery, which is one of the largest and most successful podiatric residency programs in the U.S., as well as renowned fellowships in wound care and advanced foot and ankle reconstructive surgery.
