UH Geauga Medical Center Provides the Latest Radiation Oncology Treatment

UH Seidman Cancer Center at UH Geauga Medical Center offers on-site radiation oncology for patients of all ages. Radiation oncology is the fundamental method used to cure or manage cancer. At UH Geauga Medical Center, radiation oncology is used to destroy malignant cancer cells and shrink tumor size. Our multidisciplinary team of radiation oncologists guides each patient’s cancer treatment plan.

Infusion Center at UH Geauga

The Infusion Center at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio, offers the following for patients with cancer:

Findings of the 2016 Geauga County Health Needs Assessment show the leading incidence of Adult Cancer by type to be: Breast, Prostate, Lung and Bronchus, Colon and Rectum. The largest percent of cancer deaths were from lung and bronchus cancers. The leading causes of male cancer deaths in Geauga County are: Lung, Prostate and Bladder. The leading causes of female cancer deaths in Geauga County are: Lung, Breast and Colon. When age differences are accounted for, Geauga County had a lower cancer mortality rate than Ohio and the U.S. The percentage of Geauga County males who died from all cancers is higher than the percentage of Geauga County females who died from all cancers. 13% of Geauga County adults have been diagnosed with cancer at some time in their life. The American Cancer Society advises that avoiding tobacco products, maintaining a healthy weight, adopting a physically active lifestyle, eating more fruits and vegetables, limiting alcoholic beverages, and early detection may reduce overall cancer deaths.
