Instructions to Set Up Epic Haiku or Epic Canto

Haiku is EpicCare’s mobile app for the iPhone® and Android®. Canto is the mobile app for the iPad®. These apps give UH caregivers secure and portable access to patient charts.

Note: Please follow the installation steps in this order while on the mobile device you will be using to access an Epic mobile app.

UH Intelligent Hub

Workspace One(TM) Intelligent Hub

The UH Intelligent Hub is the preferred storefront for all UH mobile apps. When you download UH’s Epic mobile apps from UH’s Intelligent Hub, no further setup is required to connect with UH’s Epic environment and sign in with your UH login credentials.

If your mobile device is not enrolled with UH’s Intelligent Hub, please start by installing the Intelligent Hub app from your device’s public app store and following the enrollment guide for your device type:

If you are unable to enroll your mobile device with UH’s Intelligent Hub, please follow the manual configuration process outlined below.


Manual Configuration

If you choose not install the preconfigured versions of UH’s Epic mobile apps from UH’s Intelligent Hub, please navigate to this page from your mobile device by scanning the QR code shared on this page with your device’s camera to begin the manual app configuration 3-step process.

  1. Download the app to your mobile device
  2. Tap the link to configure Haiku or Canto
  3. Accept the license agreement and sign in using your UH Epic credentials

Download Haiku (iPhone/Android) or Canto (iPad only)

Download the Epic mobile app of your choice by tapping the appropriate public app store link below:

Note: To avoid an issue with Epic mobile apps crashing, please keep your app updated to the latest version. Update Apple devices to iOS version 15.0 or later.

Configure Haiku or Canto

The configuration links below will only work after you have installed the corresponding app on your mobile device. Please make sure that the app has fully downloaded before tapping on the appropriate configuration link.

Configuration

Haiku (Apple iPhone)

  1. Click to configure.
  2. You will then be prompted “Do you want to open this with Haiku?” Tap “yes”.
  3. Set up is complete. You can now login to the Epic Haiku Mobile Application with your UH credentials.

Canto (Apple iPad)


  1. Click to configure.
  2. You will then be prompted “Do you want to open this with Canto?” Tap “yes”. 
  3. Set up is complete. You can now login to the Epic Canto Mobile Application with your UH credentials.

Haiku (Android)

  2. You will then be prompted “Do you want to open this with Haiku?” Tap “yes”.
  3. Set up is complete. You can now login to the Epic Haiku Mobile Application with your UH credentials.

Sign in using your UH credentials

You can log in to Epic Haiku/Canto Mobile Application with your UH credentials.

Note: Two-Step Verification Required for Remote Access

If you are working remotely, you will need to complete a two-step verification process before signing in with your UH credentials. If you have not yet set up this verification process for remote work, start here to set up your mobile device for two-step verification.
