UH Female Urologists: Leaders in Their Field
The Movement
Urology has the smallest percentage of women physicians of any medical specialty, according to the Society for Women in Urology. But that statistic is changing. Today, 50 percent of urology residents at University Hospitals are women, compared to an industry average of 27 percent, and many women in the UH Urology Institute hold leadership roles. This Institute is laser-focused on training, recruiting and developing a team of diverse urologists and other providers, bringing together new perspectives to the field in support of their clinical, academic and professional opportunities.
Our Talent
On staff, the Urology Institute at University Hospitals has female providers who are Global Health Scholars, Center of Excellence leaders and nationally recognized experts in their crafts. Several of our providers are the first and/or only female physicians in the area certified to perform new, innovative procedures or deliver specialty care. Female leadership, however, is not limited to our board-certified urologists. Talented female Certified Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Physicians Assistants can also be found making waves within the institute and enterprise.
