Division of Female Pelvic Medicine

The Urology Institute Division of Female Pelvic Medicine is the only program in Ohio to bring together an integrated approach with specialists from various fields, including urology, urogynecology, gynecology, and colorectal surgery. The multidisciplinary teams collaborate and provide women with the latest treatment options for a wide range of pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, bladder fistulas, and pelvic pain. Patients are cared for in a comfortable, relaxed environment by highly qualified experts to guide them through an accurate medical diagnosis of their condition.

The Female Pelvic Medicine team, including fellowship-trained surgeons and certified pelvic health physical therapists, works to develop and deliver a personalized treatment plan to ensure the best possible outcome. Treatment options may include everything from lifestyle changes and physical therapy to minimally invasive or complex surgical procedures, including the da Vinci robotic surgery.

Reimagining Care

An expert team of physicians recently developed new urinary incontinence treatments based on research conducted at University Hospitals. The team has established the only fellowship program in the country dedicated to providing advanced physician training for chronic pelvic pain.
