Watch Dr. Rachel Weinerman’s Health Talks

Rachel Weinerman, MD, is a reproductive endocrinologist at University Hospitals. As a physician-scientist and nationally recognized expert in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI), her work bridges clinical care, translational research and medical education. Her clinical expertise centers on assisted reproductive technologies (ART), third-party reproduction, recurrent pregnancy loss and the perinatal outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF), areas in which she is widely sought for invited lectures, national committee service, and expert commentary in major media outlets including TIME and The Wall Street Journal.

Dr. Weinerman leads a translational research program investigating the biological and clinical determinants of ART outcomes, with a focus on how superovulation, embryo manipulation and vitrification influence implantation, placentation and early development. She is recognized for her innovative integration of laboratory discovery with population-based clinical research using national databases. Her work has resulted in more than two dozen peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Fertility and Sterility, Biology of Reproduction, and JAMA Network Open.

A dedicated educator, Dr. Weinerman is the Program Director for the University Hospitals/Case Western REI Fellowship, where she is known nationally for her rigorous, physiology-driven approach to training. She lectures annually at the Midwest Reproductive Symposium International Board Review Course and serves on national committees developing the next generation of REI curricula. She also leads the Reproductive Biology section of the School of Medicine’s first-year curriculum and teaches medical students, residents and fellows across clinical and didactic settings.

Dr. Weinerman’s leadership includes service on multiple committees for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), The Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI) and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART). These include chairing the ASRM Early Pregnancy Special Interest Group and contributing to editorial oversight as a member of the Fertility and Sterility Editorial Board. Her work reflects an enduring commitment to improving reproductive outcomes through evidence-based clinical care, scientific discovery and the training of future leaders in the field.
