About
Kimberly Svec, APRN, MSN, CNP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at University Hospitals. Her clinical interests include the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and obesity. She has a strong interest in helping patients achieve well-being with a healthy diet and exercise.
Kimberly received her associate degree in nursing from Lakeland Community College, her Bachelor of Science in nursing from The Ohio University, and her Master of Science in nursing from Maryville University, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Prior to joining University Hospitals in 2015, Kimberly was the director of nursing at a local assisted living community, a nurse at Lake West Hospitals, and a patient care assistant at Lake West and TriPoint Hospitals.
Kimberly has served as the Vice-Chair of the Lake Health APP committee during 2024 and will serve as Chair for 2025. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses (OAAPN) and the American Nursing Association (ANA). Kimberly is an academic coach for the University of Cincinnati’s nursing program, teaching freshman students in a health and wellness course.
Kimberly and her husband Michael share four adult children and two basset hounds, and reside in Concord Township. She loves cooking healthy meals, gardening, and boating with her husband and dogs.

This appointment was a follow-up regarding my prescriptions. I was scheduled for surgery on my ***, and had already had an appointment to be checked regarding the surgery. Nurse Svec made sure I was okay for the appointment as well as checking how my prescriptions were. She gave me an order for a blood test and said I could have it done in a couple of weeks as I'm recovering from the surgery. She is kind, understanding, and very thorough.
I am always very well taken care of & if I felt that I needed better care, I would not hesitate to go elsewhere. No complaints

My wife and I had back-to-back appointments. She went first and after they had covered her issues and was receiving the summary for her visit from the nurse, I was taken back to her office for my appointment. She is an excellent PCP and usually takes the secluded 30 minutes with each person.
I saw Nurse Svec as I am scheduled to have surgery on a ***. She checked me to make sure I would be able to have the surgery and confirmed as such to the surgeon. She and her nurse were very compassionate and thorough. They are the best!

Kim Svec is a wonderful CNP, she made my referrals to hematologist/oncologist who then diagnosed my MDS/Leukemia and began my treatment

This was a F/U visit after a week long hospital admission for a bad infection resulting from chemo treatment. My oncologist has kept this provider updated throughout my care. They work well together regarding meds and plan of treatment. She is a care provider who listens and offers constructive advice when we have any questions about the cancer I deal with. So glad we were referred to her when our former doctor retired.
