About

Dr. Maroun Matta graduated from St. Joseph University School of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon in 2010. He completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland.

He then joined the clinical staff at UH Cleveland Medical Center, currently serving as the co-director for advanced lung diseases, and program director for pulmonary and critical care fellowship training. He has also received a master’s degree in clinical and translational research through Case Western Reserve University, and is an assistant professor in the School of Medicine.

Dr. Matta’s clinical interests are interstitial lung disease (ILD), lung transplantation and medical education. He has been an investigator on multiple idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) clinical trials. In the lab, he studies nitric oxide bio-availability and its impact on organ function for transplantation. Dr. Matta continues to focus on the multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of advanced pulmonary disease and ILD.
