About
Monica Gray, MD, is a pediatric critical care medicine physician with the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. She is an assistant professor in pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University, an associate program director for the pediatric residency program, and is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Gray completed her pediatric residency and a pediatric critical care fellowship at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital and stayed on as junior faculty from 2023-2025. She then spent a year at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta before returning to Cleveland in May 2026. She is a Northeast Ohio native and is passionate about the region and community she serves.
Dr. Gray's academic interests include ECMO, curriculum development and content creation, and pediatric procedural sedation. She currently serves as the conference planning chair for the Society for Pediatric Sedation (SPS) and is interested in quality improvement projects focusing on improving the delivery of pediatric procedural sedation. Dr. Gray is also one of the co-creators and co-hosts of the podcast, PICUDocOnCall which reviews key pediatric critical care medicine topics in a case-based format available for free on all podcast platforms. She is also a member of the Society for Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
