About
Mike Thompson, DO is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah where he attended the University of Utah and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Integrative Human Biology. He obtained his medical degree from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima Washington. Dr. Thompson completed his Transitional Year at UH Regional Hospitals and Internal Medicine residency at UH St. John Medical Center, where he was recognized as Intern of the Year and served as Chief Resident. He joined the faculty of UH St. John Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program in July 2022. Dr. Thompson serves as Director of the Northeast Ohio Medical University Internal Medicine Clerkship Program at UH St. John Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor at NEOMED.
His professional interests include medical education, ultrasound, and bedside procedures and is passionate about training learners in the art of medicine. In his spare time, he is an avid outdoor enthusiast including skiing, snowboarding, and white-water rafting. However, he currently spends most of his free time attempting to contain his twin boys.
