I had a really good experience with this provider, she was attentive and showed concern with my issues I was having and explained everything I was to do if my problems got worse. No complaints.

I absolutely loved Dr Stepanek she was so through I didn't feel uncomfortable or embarrassed at all while discussing my condition and the options to correcting it.

All the staff were very nice, and Dr. Stepanak was truly wonderful. I was anxious and she was very reassuring. I felt listened to and heard, and like she took my concerns seriously. This was my first visit with Dr. Stepanek, but I will absolutely be returning to see her with any future gynecological health needs.

Dr. Stepanek is a thoughtful provider. She called me immediately after receiving a note that I had a miscarriage and talked with me about next steps. *** I'm grateful that Dr. Stepanek called immediately after leaving Dr. Corteville's office, because she helped to calm me down and truly seemed to care about the loss of my baby. Dr. Corteville should consider switching specialities if she is not equipped to deliver news of losses. It pains me to think that she is the provider who often sees patients in that lower-income area. It's truly a shame.

I was impressed with the amount of time Dr. Stepanek spent in illustrating my condition and explaining the options I had for treatment. She discussed the benefits and draw backs for each which helped me make my decision for treatment. This was my first visit with Dr. Stepanek and she obviously had reviewed the results of my emergency visit before our meeting.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
