About

Pratima Sood, MD, serves as the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), where she has dedicated much of her career to medical education and mentorship.

Dr. Sood received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint Matthew's University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, at University Hospitals Case Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sood has been passionate about educating future physicians. She has served in numerous leadership roles in undergraduate and graduate medical education, including Internal Medicine Clerkship Director, course director, faculty mentor and curriculum developer. She has worked closely with medical students, residents and faculty to create learning environments that emphasize clinical excellence, curiosity, professionalism and compassionate patient care.

In addition to her educational leadership, Dr. Sood practices endocrinology at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. She has been recognized as a Cleveland Magazine Top Doctor in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism for six consecutive years (2021–2026). Dr. Sood’s academic interests include medical education, curriculum innovation, mentorship, quality improvement, community engagement and physician wellness.

As Program Director, Dr. Sood is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, respect and lifelong learning. She believes that residency is a transformative time in a physician's career and is dedicated to helping each resident develop into a confident practitioner.
