Patient Experience Reviews
The doctor was very kind and patient and I appreciated the time she took with me after having to wait.
Diagnosed a flutter so visit was excellant
She's very caring, understanding, and listen to me while I'm explaining my problems. She makes me feel comfortable and that I'm not alone.
Very happy to have arranged care with Dr. Laura Schapiro for both myself and my husband. We have had a number of PCP's leave the system during COVID and were hoping to find someone that wasn't ready to retire! Dr. Schapiro is professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. Definitely the right fit for our care.
Dr. Shapiro gives good attention to problems presented and listens carefully. Her recommendations appear to be appropriate
Dr. Schapiro is a wonderful, caring physician. She Is very easy to talk to and attentive to patient concerns. I'm very glad she Is my primary physician.
My Provider was amazing and helpful after talking to her helped my mental thinking
Dr. Shapiro is very attentive
Very Good Care. I Was Very Pleased.
The doctor was totally wonderful. As far as trying to get an appointment my regular physician was booked everytime I called to get in. The woman that answered the phone was rude and not helpful and acted as though she didn't care. I had to go to the minute clinic 2 times before this appointment.
Doctor laura schapiro was great as always I am happy to have her as my doctor
Dr. Schapiro is an excellent provider. I am fortunate to be her patient.
Excellent experience! Dr Schapiro immediately diagnosed my tennis elbow and bursitis. She discussed options (draining or compression sleeve until heals or not). She even brought in another physician for consultation and weighed risk of bacterial infection of immediate draining or not (chose not). Very professional and much appreciated
Very pleased with the care. The doctor was knowledgeable and compassionate
Dr Schapiro is one of the very BEST physicians I have ever encountered. My husband, ***, and I inherited her when Dr *** retired. My husband is a "hot mess" medically and she has put a wonderful care team in place for him. She is an excellent diagnostician, empathetic, and she truly cares!!!!!!I am recommending her to many friends. PLEASE do not ever let her leave. Trust me, we are a long standing UH family including serving on *** so we have worked with many doctors in all areas. ***
Greatly thankful for the care Dr Laura Shaprio has given my mother. Best doctor ever.
First appointment with her as my Doctor just retired.she was very nice & professional, took all the time with me I needed , liked her very much.
Very good first visit experience
Very good experience for fist visit
Dr. Laura Shapiro is an excellent provider. She actually listens to what you have to say and that is so important for your plan of care that she provides.
I am very happy with Dr. Schapiro. A huge improvement over the last doc.
Dr. Schapiro listened with obvious empathy as I destined my overseas experience of ending up in a foreign hospital with103F fever in
She's the best hope to stay with her for awhile
She is my new internist. So impressed with her knowledge, time listening, and caring demeanor. I didn't expect to be so impressed by someone just starting her medical career post residency. She is GOOD!
Dr. Laura Shapiro is a great improvement from the last primary care doctor I was seeing. She is on schedule for the time of my visits most of the time; she listens carefully & allows me to explain what's going on if a new health concern. She responds with a treatment plan to my satisfaction or willingness to try. She makes me feel like she is available if I need to speak or see her directly. This has not been my experience with other providers. Dr. Shapiro is new, I believe to the practice at this location and seems to have a history with pediatric care, which may account for her patience, calm approach and lets take of this attitude.
I really like Dr.L. Shapiro ! She's very thorough and she displays Active Listening. I'm thoroughly pleased with her as my primary care provider!
I had an issue that needed immediate attention and was scheduled with Dr. Schapiro because my regular physician was not available. Dr. Schapiro was kind, attentive, thorough, and helpful.
This was my first meeting with Dr. Schapiro since my previous physician retired.I am very glad that I chose her to be my new provider. She was so easy to talk to and so genuinely interested in learning about me, her new patient.I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new provider.
First visit for follow up for a few medical conditions. My primary care physician for past 24 years has retired. The visit went well. A good experience.
The MD was pleasant and very knowledgeable. I really liked her overall manner and caring attitude. during my first new patient visit.
Industry Relationships
University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.
UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
