John Samsa, DO, FACC, is a general and interventional cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, directing echocardiography services at University Hospitals Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, Ohio.
Dr. Samsa earned his medical degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. His postdoctoral training included an internship at Brentwood Hospital and a residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, during which he was named chief fellow.
Dr. Samsa has over 35 years of experience in the medical field with a primary focus on the diagnosis and treatment of common and complex heart conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, heart valve disease and congestive heart failure.
Dr. Samsa is recognized as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in both cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Samsa is an excellent and caring doctor. I am very pleased with the medical care that he provides me.
I showed up 2hours early for my appointment. I told them that I would come back at my original scheduled time. They were very accommodating and I actually was taken into the exam room within 10 minutes.
My visits with Dr Samsa have gone very well .. He is a good listener and I felt like a partner in my care . Which is what I expect from a provider .

I waited 45 minutes in the exam room to see Dr. Samsa. I do like him, but I don't think I should have to wait that long for him to see me.

It was a very good experience. The staff was friendly and greeted me promptly, with courtesy and respect. Dr Samsa listened to my personal concerns and was very patient in discussing options. Though we both agreed there was no further action to be taken at this time, if I needed to see him for any reason I should absolutely call.
