About
Ashley Ramos, PhD, is a pediatric psychologist at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Dr. Ramos graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh with a B.S. in pscyhology. She went on to earn both a Master’s and a PhD in clinical psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She completed her predoctoral internship in pediatric psychology and postdoctoral fellowship in allergy psychology at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Before joining the team at UH Rainbow, Dr. Ramos was a pediatric psychologist within the Division of Allergy and Immunology/Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health at Children’s National Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington D.C.
Dr. Ramos provides psychology services to patients with food allergies and their families focusing on concerns like adjustment to new diagnosis, management of allergic conditions, food allergy-related anxiety, and restricted eating behaviors. Dr. Ramos is very active in clinical research and has authored numerous articles in prominent medical journals. Her research focuses on developing novel ways to support families with food allergy and to address health disparities within food allergy. She has presented her research at regional, national and international meetings and conferences.
Dr. Ramos is a member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, where she serves on the Adverse Reactions to Foods committee, and the Society of Pediatric Psychology, where she serves as clinical chair for the Allergic Diseases Special Interest Group.
