About

Chetan P. Patel, MD, MBA, CHFP, is a clinical and interventional cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. In addition to his patient practice, he is a local board member at University Hospitals Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, Ohio, and a Lake Foundation board member.

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the Government Medical College Surat (Gujarat, India). His postdoctoral training included an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital (Manhattan, New York), followed by an internal medicine residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (Newark, New Jersey). He then completed a research fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, Ohio) and a clinical fellowship in cardiology at the State University of New York Health Science Center (Brooklyn, New York.) Dr. Patel also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.

With more than 30 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Patel is highly rated by patients and colleagues for his skill in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, valvular heart disease, and heart failure. As an interventional cardiologist, he performs minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures such as diagnostic coronary angiography via radial and femoral approach, percutaneous coronary interventions, and heart catheterizations.
