About
Julie Park, MD, is a Professor and Chief of Plastic Surgery at University Hospitals. She holds the Dr. Vasu and Linda Pandrangi Family Endowed Chair in Plastic Surgery and serves as the Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Park graduated from Harvard in Women’s Studies in 1994. Subsequently, she received her medical degree at Johns Hopkins, which she stayed to train in general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery. She then did specialty training in microsurgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. Her first faculty job was at the University of Chicago, where she spent nine years. In 2017, Dr. Park moved to Galveston, Texas, to direct and build the Breast Reconstruction program at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She spent over a decade in graduate medical education at both University of Chicago and the University of Texas Medical Branch as Program Director of Plastic Surgery Residencies. Dr. Park has been a leader in all of the major plastic surgery societies and has had a special focus in diversity and inclusion.
