About
Sara Lyn Miniaci-Coxhead, MD, MEd, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at University Hospitals and is the Chair of the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Division. She has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of all foot and ankle conditions and has a special interest in procedures such as large deformity corrections and total ankle arthroplasty and using minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Miniaci-Coxhead graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada with a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology. She received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed her orthopedic residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. She returned to Canada for a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Miniaci-Coxhead has published numerous articles related to foot and ankle surgery. She also is an active participant in the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) as the chair of the Women’s Leadership Committee. She has served on numerous committees and is passionate about education, earning her Master of Education in 2021.
Dr. Miniaci-Coxhead enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and two chocolate labs. They love spending time together outdoors skiing, hiking, camping, golfing and swimming.
