The doctor that I saw at the appointment was not my regular doctor but he was very helpful and kind. I wanted to leave a message for my doctor but I was told I am not allowed to talk to him or leave a message for him. I felt that my health and wellness were not being taken seriously. I was not feeling well and I just wanted to be able to speak with my doctor. The receptionist was not very helpful at all. She made me feel uncomfortable. At least when I finally got an appointment my experience was good. The receptionist *** was very helpful and kind and the doctor I seen on that day, even though he is not my regular doctor was very helpful and kind and pleasant. He listened to my concerns and helped me, so for that I am grateful.

Although I was happy with my past doctor who joined a practice on the east side , I was very happy with my new doctor and his staff. His receptionist and assistant were so much friendlier and you could actually converse with them and not feel like a "case" they had to process. Dr. Minicia took his time, was professional and felt confident in his knowledge and advice. Just hope he continues with UH; I have been thru several doctors who either move or change practices and now that I am older I would like to have a steady MD and not have to hunt for one evert time I'm due for a checkup.

Industry Relationships
University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.
UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
