Lauren Mathias, MD, had an interest in immunology and humanistic interest in longitudinal care that led her to rheumatology. She focuses on the pathophysiology of the disease, the multi-organ component of rheumatology and the immunomodulatory mechanisms of rheumatology drugs. She also enjoys connecting with rheumatology patients. Their illnesses, when properly controlled, are just a small part of their lives. Dr. Mathias finds great fulfillment from minimizing potentially debilitating conditions so that her patients can continue to live full lives.
Dr. Mathias is passionate about taking care of the rheumatology patient population because they are strong, resilient and knowledgeable. She feels honored to use her expertise to ease their burden of disease.
In her free time, Dr. Mathias enjoys exploring Cleveland’s many beautiful parks and bustling restaurant scene.

This is my first time ever seeing Dr Mathias. I was nervous to see her because I was afraid she wouldn't take me serious or listen to me about my issue. She was very kind and she listened to what I had to say. You can tell she's concerned about what you tell her. In my opinion she's a very good doctor. My experience was good!
