About
Lauren Mathias, MD, had an interest in immunology and humanistic interest in longitudinal care that led her to rheumatology. She focuses on the pathophysiology of the disease, the multi-organ component of rheumatology and the immunomodulatory mechanisms of rheumatology drugs. She also enjoys connecting with rheumatology patients. Their illnesses, when properly controlled, are just a small part of their lives. Dr. Mathias finds great fulfillment from minimizing potentially debilitating conditions so that her patients can continue to live full lives.
Dr. Mathias is passionate about taking care of the rheumatology patient population because they are strong, resilient and knowledgeable. She feels honored to use her expertise to ease their burden of disease.
In her free time, Dr. Mathias enjoys exploring Cleveland’s many beautiful parks and bustling restaurant scene.

Dr Mathias is a very thoughtful and knowledgeable provider. She had many options to offer me for osteoporosis care as well as issues related to ivig side effects. I appreciate how quickly she follows up via my medical record portal.

Dr Mathias definitely diagnosed a problem I've had for a year, clearly delineated the steps to take next and offered a procedure I accepted after 24 hours got me in and I've had the first real relief from pain in a year.
