About

Alexander Lewis, DO a member of the Neurocritical Care team in the Reinberger Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. Board certified in Neurology and Neurocritical Care, he completed both his neurology residency and neurocritical care fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University before joining the faculty.

Dedicated to providing exceptional care, Dr. Lewis specializes in treating critically ill patients with life-threatening neurological conditions, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, ischemic stroke, status epilepticus, and neuromuscular emergencies such as myasthenia gravis and Guillain-Barré syndrome. He is also an expert in critical care ultrasound, a tool that enhances bedside neurological examinations and improves patient outcomes in acute neurological crises.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Lewis is deeply committed to medical education and mentoring the next generation of neurologists. As Associate Program Director for the Neurology Residency Program, he plays a key role in training future specialists. He remains actively involved in research and continues to contribute to advancements in neurocritical care and neurology education.
