About
Margaret Kuper-Sassé, MD, FAAP, is a neonatologist in the Division of Neonatology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, and the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lake Hospitals in Willoughby, Ohio, and Concord Township, Ohio. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Kuper-Sassé is board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She also is certified in neonatal resuscitation and extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). She has special interest in neonatal encephalopathy, intraventricular hemorrhage, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and resident and fellow education.
Dr. Kuper-Sassé completed her undergraduate training with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., in 2001. She then worked as a lab technician and then lab technologist in the lab of Richard Ransohoff, MD, at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, with a focus on chemokines in neuroinflammation using a mouse model. She received her medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati in 2010. She completed her residency in pediatrics and fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Cleveland, in 2013 and 2016, respectively. She was named to Neonatology staff in 2016 upon completion of fellowship training.
Dr. Kuper-Sassé is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as well as sections on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Telehealth.
