About
Neil Korman, MD, PhD, joined University Hospitals’ Department of Dermatology in 1990. He serves as Director of the Regional Center for Immunobullous Disease, University Hospitals Dermatology Clinical Trials Unit and Translational Research Core at Case Western Reserve University’s Skin Disease Research Center. Dr. Korman earned both his MD and PhD from Case Western Reserve University. He completed an internship and residency at University Hospitals and a research fellowship at the Dermatology Branch of the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Korman has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a Best Doctor consecutively since 2011. He is a also a Distinguished Physician at University Hospitals and has received several other honors and awards throughout his career.
Dr. Korman’s clinical expertise is in complex medical dermatology, including autoimmune blistering diseases, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa and atopic dermatitis. Heavily focused on clinical research, he has been involved in studies of psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata and hidradenitis suppurativa, among dermatological conditions. With more than 25 years of experience in clinical research, Dr. Korman has performed more than 100 phase 1 – 4 psoriasis clinical trials, including studies evaluating all the major biologic agents approved for treating psoriasis. He has also served as a co-investigator in several translational mechanism of action studies in patients with psoriasis.
