About
Harrison Kaufman, MD, is a fellowship-trained endocrinologist at University Hospitals. He is an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Kaufman is skilled in treating a wide range of conditions related to hormones and the endocrine system, including thyroid diseases, thyroid cancer, osteoporosis and bone disorders, diabetes, adrenal and pituitary disorders, menopause and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). He is also skilled in provided care for transgender men, women and nonbinary individuals.
Dr. Kaufman earned his Bachelor of Science in molecular genetics at The Ohio State University and attended medical school at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at UH Cleveland Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Dr. Kaufman is active in clinical research and has been involved in projects covering a wide range of endocrinology-related topics. He has presented his research at regional and national medical conferences and meetings and has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
Outside of work, Dr. Kaufman enjoys spending time with his friends and family and exploring local restaurants, breweries and live comedy and music venues. He is a long-time fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, Guardians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoys sailing with his father on Lake Erie during the summer months.
