Dr. Gordon was incredibly kind, and understanding. He answered all my questions, gave me several options for surgery, and discussed each option very thoroughly. I felt I had chosen the best doctor and was so glad I went to see him. I was very afraid about having back surgery, but after my visit with him, I feel completely confident in his skill as a surgeon.

The initial appt date was supposed to be scheduled with a PA which I refused as I have been a previous patient of Dr Gordon and needed his opinion before going forward with any course of treatment . I was told that It was not protocol and would have to schedule with the PA first. No offense but I find this to be an obstruction of my objective and was given difficulty to my wanting to see the DR first who is familiar with my spinal history. I got the same result by seeing the DR first but have more confidence in the decision for a course of treatment and would have to see the DR before I started any treatment. A PA is not what I needed to add for additional trips across town because the PA does not service the Westside and not accomplish my objective until I would see the DR. Total waste of my time and money.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.

As of December 31, 2016, Zachary Gordon did not disclose any Outside Relationships with Industry.
