About
Cecilia Gállego Suárez, MD, joined the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's in August 2024. She completed her medical training in Mexico and moved to the United States with the goal of pursuing a career in pediatrics and academic medicine. Before her residency and fellowship training, she participated in research focused on obesity-associated inflammation and metabolic disease. She then completed her residency in general pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Michigan, where she also served as the chief fellow during her last year of training.
Her clinical and research interests focus on better understanding the impact of nutritional status in the host immune response in pediatric sepsis, ARDS and multi-organ dysfunction; and improving the utilization and outcomes for patients supported on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for cardiopulmonary failure.
