Ankita P. Desai, MD, is a physician in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She is Associate Professor, Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Desai is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. Her special interest is the responsible use of antibiotics and microbiology.
She earned her undergraduate degree cum laude from The University of Akron, Akron, OH, and received her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University, Rootstown, Ohio. Dr. Desai completed her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, DC, and a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Desai joined the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 2013. Her research interests include pediatric pneumonia and causes of fever in children with cancer.
Dr. Desai has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at medical meetings. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, American Academy of Pediatrics.
