Wayne Cohen-Levy, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic joint reconstruction surgeon at University Hospitals and an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He specializes in caring for people with arthritis of the hip and knee and is committed to providing each patient with an individualized care plan designed to alleviate pain and improve function.
Dr. Cohen-Levy’s expertise lies with performing hip and knee replacements and revising those that have failed. He is committed to advancing the field of joint replacement surgery to help his patients live active lives and resume their hobbies. Dr. Cohen-Levy employs the latest in rapid recovery and outpatient pathways, utilizing minimally invasive surgical principles and, in select patients, new robotic assistance technology. Dr. Cohen-Levy is a staunch believer in planning and prevention to minimize the the stress and unpredictable nature of surgery.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, Dr. Cohen-Levy remained at the University to earn a Master of Science in Management. He then attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, where he was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Cohen-Levy went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he served as the academic chief resident. Most recently, he completed additional subspecialty training at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard University in the field of hip and knee reconstruction.
Outside of work, Dr. Cohen-Levy appreciates spending time with his family, playing basketball, spinning and watching sports, particularly the Cleveland Browns. He dedicates time to educating the orthopaedic residents at University Hospitals and conducting clinical and biomechanical research in the field of orthopedics.
