I am new to this doctor and office. I was extremely pleased with the care I received. The office staff has been so courteous, kind, and helpful on the phone and in person. The nurses and assistants were also very pleasant and kind. Dr. Carmichael was a great listener, seems very knowledgeable and concerned about her patients. I have already referred a family member to her. I couldn't be more pleased.

This was my first visit to Sharon Family Physicians with Dr. Carmichael and my expectations were more than exceeded! Everyone at the office was wonderful and helpful and explained everything from the front desk to the nurse to the doctor to the person who scheduled my next appointments. I feel like they addressed my concerns and did so in a timely manner. I can not say enough great things about this office! Thank you to everyone at this office for all the wonderful care.

I have always enjoyed my visits with Dr. Carmichael, as she is personable. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she seemed in a big rush, didn't really validate the issues I was having, and when I asked about a change in one of my regular prescriptions, she asked who my primary care provider was for that (it's her, but her question literally hurt my feelings so much I cried in the car after all that).

This was my first visit to this practice - changing primary care providers - and it was wonderful - so happy I found this office and this team. Thank you.

When I commented about still having an issue with recovering from a surgery over six months ago, she didn't seem to hear or acknowledge so I dropped it.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.

As of December 31, 2016, Katherine Carmichael did not disclose any Outside Relationships with Industry.
