Benjamin Boswell, DO, is a specialist in sports medicine and an assistant team physician for the Cleveland Browns. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine and is also certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. The majority of his practice is in Sports Medicine, but he continues to practice Emergency Medicine.
His special interests encompass all aspects of sports medicine, including acute and chronic injuries; sports related concussion; injury prevention and rehabilitation; osteopathic medicine; and sports physicals. Additional interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided procedures and diagnostics and the use of orthobiologics to improve the healing of fractures, injured muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Prior to going to medical school, Dr. Boswell earned a bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and worked as a radiologic technologist for 4 years. He went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Boswell currently holds a clinical faculty position in the Department of Orthopedics in the Division of Sports Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He also serves as core faculty for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, also affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
In addition to being the head team physician for Nordonia High School, Dr. Boswell frequently presents at local and national Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine conferences. He also serves as a Captain in the United States Army Reserves.

Dr. Boswell was referred to me when I had additional questions related to another injury. [...]. He conducted tests and a thorough examination that helped to inform his diagnosis versus dismissing my concerns without taking the time to base his conclusions on facts and not assumptions.
