About

Atallah Baydoun, MD, PhD, is a radiation oncologist with University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center. Dr. Baydoun’s areas of expertise include brain tumors, central nervous system tumors, spine tumors, lung cancer, spine metastases and thoracic oncology.

Dr. Baydoun attended Lebanese University - Faculty of Science (Fanar, Lebanon), where he studied biochemistry before earning his medical degree in 2009 and a Bachelor of Science in pure mathematics in 2013. He went on to attend Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio), where he earned a PhD in biomedical engineering in 2020.

Dr. Baydoun’s postdoctoral training included internal medicine residencies at American University of Beirut Medical Center (Beirut, Lebanon) and Case Western Reserve University completed in 2013 and 2015, respectively. Dr. Baydoun also completed a radiation oncology residency at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University in 2024, where he served also Radiation Oncology Chief Resident.

Dr. Baydoun is the first resident in the history of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center / Case Western Reserve University to graduate from the prestigious American Board of Radiology Holman Research pathway. Among other honors and awards, Dr. Baydoun is the recipient of the Abstract Research Prize, Case Comprehensive Cancer Center Retreat, Case Western Reserve University, July 2023; RSNA Roentgen Resident Research Award, University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, June 2023; and Excellence in Research Award – Department of Radiation Oncology, University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, June 2022.

Professional societies in which Dr. Baydoun is a member include the Radiological Society of North America, American Society for Radiation Oncology, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. As a researcher in the field of radiation oncology, biomedical imaging and artificial intelligence applications in medicine, Dr. Baydoun has delivered poster and oral presentations at conferences and events held by the Radiological Society of North America and American Society for Radiation Oncology. He contributed many articles in peer-reviewed journals, and his work has been featured in press conferences.
