Excellent professional medical care. . .informative, direct, and efficient. I'm comfortable speaking with him as he explains clearly what's happening, what's likely/possible as we look to the future, what he recommends, and who's accompanied him to the examination room (other Doctors/medical personnel) and their role In providing care.

Dr. Barlev, like all the other Doctor's I have had at University Hospital, puts me at ease and makes my appointments enjoyable and informative. He knows my cancer history very well and makes sure he examines me closely.

Reviewed On 7/1/2022
Dr. Barlev was very personable, he was able to do a minor office procedure that day so I didn't have to go back. He also offered to do a skin check even though my appointment was not for that. I appreciate that as it saves time. The nurse who assisted was very kind and explained things very well. The receptionist staff were laughing amongst themselves which is fine, she was polite, though no eye contact.

Both Dr. Barlev and his assistant were very warm, and professional. It really went a long way to help me relax about my issue. We talked and laughed during the conversation; really didn't feel like a "dr. Visit" at all; which was very welcoming to me!

Excellent experience. Dr. Barlev is the best!!!

Reviewed On 5/1/2022
Dr. Barlev is great. My husband is now going to schedule a much needed exam with him. The best thing about him is that he gauges my concern and approaches the subject(s) with appropriate attention and a wonderful attitude. It's hard not to smile with him and *** and ***. This particular visit was to remove stitches from where a deep cyst was removed. Also he examined me for any problems with my skin. Then he took a sample (scraping?) from my nose and chest. He explained everything. *** it was a great appointment. I felt I had a good understanding of what was going on and how to go forward until my next appointment.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
