Brittany Barger, APRN-CNP, is a certified family nurse practitioner at University Hospitals. Her clinical interests include health promotion, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia.
Brittany earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from University of Akron (Akron, Ohio) in 2006. She attended graduate school at Kent State University (Kent, Ohio), where she earned a Master of Science in nursing in 2010.
Prior to joining University Hospitals, Brittany worked as a nurse practitioner for three years in a private neurology practice. She also worked for three and a half years as a registered nurse in a Medical ICU. She is a member of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Brittany was born and raised in a suburb of Youngstown, Ohio. She is married and has three sons.

Wouldn't trade NP Barger for anything! Been my NP for years and I really appreciate being able to just st and talk about my health. It's simple, direct problem solving and she usually asks questions that bring out important details and we figure out what to do. I'm getting older and I am pretty confident about my health because we've talked it over throughly and followed through with testing and referrals. That meant that I got my colposcopy found and removed my pre cancerous colon polyps. That a big deal! NP Barger, thanks!

This was my first visit with Brittney as my primary care physician had recently retired. Brittany was very professional, engaging and easy to talk with. She showed a genuine concern and interest in my overall health and is an excellent listener. I know I am in very good hands moving forward and feel comfortable talking with her about my medical concerns.
