About
Omar Al-Janabi, MD, MSc, PhD, is a vascular neurologist specializing in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, including acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack (TIA) and other complex neurovascular disorders. He is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care and helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes through comprehensive stroke prevention, acute treatment and long-term recovery strategies.
Dr. Al-Janabi earned his medical degree from Tikrit University College of Medicine. He subsequently completed a Master of Science in medical science and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in clinical and translational science at the University of Kentucky, where he developed expertise in clinical research, translational medicine and the advancement of innovative approaches to neurological care.
He completed his adult neurology residency at the University of Kentucky, followed by advanced fellowship training in vascular neurology at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he gained extensive experience in the management of acute stroke, cerebrovascular disease and neurovascular emergencies.
As a physician scientist, Dr. Al-Janabi combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to research and education. His academic interests include stroke systems of care, tele-stroke services, cerebrovascular disease outcomes, and the translation of scientific discoveries into improvements in patient care. He is dedicated to advancing the field of vascular neurology through clinical investigation, multidisciplinary collaboration and the education of future healthcare professionals.
