WE ARE NO LONGER RECRUITING FOR THIS TRIAL.

covid-19
AGE: ≥ 18 years old
GENDER: All
TYPE: Observational vaccine sub-study
COMPENSATION: Yes
CONDITION: Individuals with or without a history of COVID-19

Study Purpose

The purpose of this research study is to investigate the ways to best protect people living in nursing homes from COVID-19. The study would start after approval by FDA of one or several COVID-19 vaccines. The study then piggybacks along on with participants getting a COVID-19 vaccine from their provider or employee. Blood will be drawn before and after the vaccine to examine immunity. Antibodies to the virus will be measured and can be shared with the participants. The key comparison is to determine how well nursing home residents reposed to the vaccines compared to younger and more healthy health care works and community members. We hope to learn what immune factors are important to how the COVID-19 vaccines work to block Coronavirus infection and spread in long-term care facilities.

Who Can Participate

Participants 18 years old or older who are planning to get a COVID-19 vaccine from your employer or doctor may be eligible for this study. You can participate whether you have had COVID-19 in the past or not.
