Laboratory and Testing Services at UH Bedford Medical Center

The laboratory facilities at UH Bedford Medical Center, a campus of UH Regional Hospitals, are staffed by an experienced team of registered medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians.

The lab is responsible for screening cholesterol levels, monitoring glucose levels, analyzing chemical levels for patients taking medication for high blood pressure and many other conditions, identifying disease-causing bacteria and performing compatibility testing for blood transfusions. The floor staff collects the specimens for the Emergency Department and inpatient units and the laboratory-based phlebotomist obtains the blood to be tested from outpatients. The medical technicians and technologists use advanced instrumentation and state-of-the-art systems to attain accurate, timely results.
