Bio

Raymond Liu, MD, is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH Ahuja Medical Center. He also is Director of Pediatric Orthopaedics at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, and Assistant Professor, Orthopedics and Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Liu also sees patients at UH Westlake and UH Medina health centers.

Dr. Liu is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and has a special interest in limb and hip deformities and pediatric orthopaedics. He was appointed to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 2010.

Dr. Liu earned a bachelor’s degree in premedical bioengineering, summa cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego, San Diego, Calif., where he was a Regents Scholar, and elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at UH Cleveland Medical Center, a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery as the Lena Sefton Clark Endowed Fellow at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego, Calif., and a mini-fellowship in limb deformity under the direction of Dror Paley, MD, at St Mary’s Medical Center, West Palm Beach, Fla.

Dr. Liu’s research interests include innovative surgical techniques for correcting limb and hip deformities. He has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals and is a reviewer for Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics He has presented his research on complex orthopaedic reconstruction of the hip, knee and leg and other topics at more than 30 medical meetings and made more than two dozen poster presentations at national and international meetings and conferences.

Dr. Liu is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics and the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society.
