About

Zeeshan Hussain, MD, is an advanced heart failure and heart transplantation specialist and cardio-oncologist, serving as Director of the Cardio-Oncology Program at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. He is also a clinical assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hussain is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. He earned his medical degree from the Maulana Azad Medical College in India and completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville Hospital in Kentucky. Dr. Hussain completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease and a second fellowship in heart failure and cardiac transplantation at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Hussain also received training in cardiac computed tomography from Johns Hopkins University.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Hussain is an avid educator, having provided numerous professional lectures on the management of advanced heart failure, and authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts. He has received both clinical and academic honors during his tenure.

Dr. Hussain is an active member of nationally renowned organizations including the American College of Cardiology, Heart Failure Society of America and the International Cardio-Oncology Society.

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
