About

Matthew C. Gropler, MD, is a pediatric otolaryngologist at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, which he joined in joined in August 2021, and Assistant Professor of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In his role at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Dr. Gropler focuses his expertise in pediatric ear, nose, and throat (ENT) medicine on the expansion of the hospital’s craniofacial and airway services.

Dr. Gropler received his undergraduate degree from Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri) in 2007. He earned his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (Cincinnati, Ohio) in 2015. Dr. Gropler completed a residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at St. Louis University Hospital (St. Louis, Missouri) in 2020 and a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus (Aurora, Colorado) in 2021.

Dr. Gropler is a member of such professional societies as the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngologists and American Medical Association. He has contributed to the advancement of pediatric otolaryngology through his involvement in medical research conducted at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Saint Louis University School of Medicine (Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery), University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Gropler has published articles in such peer-reviewed journals as Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology; Biological Chemistry; Cell Metabolism; and The Laryngoscope. In addition, he has presented at a number of national conferences and grand rounds on such ENT topics as congenital aural atresia, pediatric head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, type IV tympanoplasty and obstructive sleep apnea.
