About
Nicole Fowler, MD, is a University Hospitals head and neck surgeon whose passion is providing top-level care for her patients. She joined the faculty in 2014 and is an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science at the University of Notre Dame with honors. Dr. Fowler obtained her MD at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, winning the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award for her compassion and commitment to patient care. She attended the Cleveland Clinic for her internship and residency in Otolaryngology (ENT). Following her residency, she completed her Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Surgery fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She is board certified in Otolaryngology.
Dr. Fowler’s passion is head and neck cancer, which includes all areas of the head and neck: mouth, nose/sinus, throat, salivary glands, thyroid gland and skin. Her expertise includes cancer removal and microvascular reconstruction, with a focus on rehabilitation and restoration of function in these complex cases. She also provides craniofacial trauma reconstruction.
Dr. Fowler is also the Director of Quality for the ENT department and the Associate American Head & Neck Cancer Fellowship Director. She enjoys teaching her patients, medical students, residents and fellows. Dr. Fowler is presently active in head and neck research. She joined the faculty at University Hospitals because her mission models that of the hospital: "To Heal. To Teach. To Discover."
