About

Olushola Fapo, MBBS, MPH is a board-eligible pediatric specialist at University Hospitals Rainbow Ahuja Center for Women & Children, located in Cleveland’s Midtown neighborhood. She treats children of all ages but has a particular clinical interest in adolescent medicine. She is also a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Dr. Fapo began her medical training at the University of Ilorin in Kwara State, Nigeria, earning a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree followed by a one-year internship at Massey Street Children’s Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. In 2016, she relocated to the United States to continue her education at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee where she earned a Master of Public Health in epidemiology. She then worked at the New York State Department of Health in Albany, New York, using CDC funded grants for improving survival rates and quality of life for patients living with congenital heart defects and muscular dystrophies. Dr. Fapo went on to complete a residency in pediatrics at Harlem Hospital Center/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City, New York.

An accomplished researcher and educator, Dr. Fapo has presented at numerous local, regional and national conferences on topics related to her area of expertise. She has also authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and takes an active role in developing educational materials for medical students and residents.

The recipient of many honors and awards over the course of her medical education and career, Dr. Fapo most recently received the CARE Award for Outstanding Performance in Clinical Care from Harlem Hospital Center.

Dr. Fapo is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
