oh my gosh. I scheduled my appt. with Dr. Elsheikh on my own not realizing I needed a referral. I could have been sent away but she kindly saw me anyway and allowed me to get my referral after my appt. so I wouldn't be charged an arm and a leg. every staff member was kind and helpful, especially Dr. Elsheikh. I had never seen an endocrinologist before so I didn't know what to expect. She immediately put me at ease and was very easy to talk to. Her smile is so genuine and I feel she really cares about my health. Thank you!!!

Dr. Elsheikh is THE BEST endocrinologist! She has explained to me other things about my hypothyroidism that my previous GP's never did (or knew). PLEASE keep her within the UH system and don't let her go. She cares about you as a person and listens! I am so glad I transferred to her for my hypothyroidism.

The provider knows I have been a nurse with advanced degrees for 40 years. She does not need to explain in layman's terms. Thankfully, she explained in terms she knew that I can understand and I am grateful for that consideration. [...] My experience with this provider was excellent.

This was my first visit with this dr. She was listened very carefully to everything I had to say and went over everything with me in great detail. I was very happy with how I was treated and especially was pleasedthat the dr called me as soon as she had my blood test results and explained what my next steps would be to get my condition on the right tract. She's an amazing Dr. and I feel very lucky to have been referred to her. Also, the staff was efficient and very kind. Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
