*** it was a good visit due to the Circumstances

I've seen MANY neurologists over the years and Dr. Cameron has been the only one who seemed relaxed and put me at ease whereas other neurologists came in and some didn't even sit down, seeming eager to get back out the door, only spending not even 15 minutes with me. She has an upbeat attitude, seems extremely intelligent, and has a glowing personality that is very refreshing especially for a specialist. Although we are still trying to find medication(s) to help me, she is the only neurologist who has stated she feels she can find something that will help even if it is a combination of drugs. She gives us hope that help is possible even at my age of 68 and having this condition all of my life.

Dr. Lauren Cameron is an exceptionally good doctor and very skilled in her field of dealing with senior citizens with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia problems. She is very personable and really engages the patient in conversation during the exam making him feel included instead of just talking to his family member as if he weren't even there. The other thing I like about her is that she called me herself when there was a questionable finding on my CT scan. Dr, Cameron didn't just leave it up to her nurse or secretary to contact me. The only improvement I could suggest is that she speak a little more slowly as it is sometimes difficult to follow what she is saying because she is talking so fast. She is really a nice lady and I enjoy seeing her very much.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
