Endowed Support for Advanced Nursing

Doug and Corey Ralston
Corey and Doug Ralston

Corey and Doug Ralston see nurses as the face of healthcare at UH. Their personal experiences inspired their latest investment in the Corey and Doug Ralston Advanced Practice Nursing Scholars program. Corey, a trained nurse, and Doug, a grateful UH patient, established the Ralston Scholars program in 2016 and made an additional gift last year to permanently endow the program.

Now in its third year, the program supports nurses training to become certified nurse practitioners, providing scholarships to keep exceptional nurses within the UH health system for the duration of their training and beyond. “We’re grateful to be in a position to give back in a way that makes life better for the hardworking nurses of UH,” shared Corey. “It’s our hope that our giving will inspire others to do the same.

Endowed Chairs, Directors and Master Clinicians are prestigious titles at University Hospitals which are awarded to leading physicians and administrators, recognizing profound contributions in healthcare and the potential for continued innovation. They are sources of support, providing dedicated funds for research, education and training in perpetuity. And they are, above all else, inspiring reminders of our community’s generosity, each a lasting legacy for individuals and families that will endure for generations.
